The New Orleans Saints may have just suffered a major blow on defense, as linebacker Junior Galette has gone down with a pectoral injury, Mike Garafolo and Ross Jones of FOX Sports reports.
It’s unclear how the injury happened and whether the sixth-year linebacker will be able to play through the injury. But players who undergo surgery for pectoral injuries typically miss five to six months.
A former 2010 undrafted free agent out of Stillman, Galette signed a four-year, $41.5 million contract extension following his 2013 breakout campaign. Over the past two seasons, he’s appeared in 32 contests (28 starts) and amassed a total of 85 tackles with 22.0 sacks, four pass deflections and four forced fumbles.
