The Washington Redskins selected Alabama guard Arie Kouandjio with their fourth round pick (No. 112 overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft on Saturday. Rapper Wale actually made the announcement.

New Redskins GM Scot McCloughan is apparently focused on revamping the offensive line, as the team also surprised some by selecting Iowa guard/tackle Brandon Scherff with the No. 5 overall pick Thursday night.
Some may consider this pick a reach due to Kouandjio’s lack of versatility and athleticism, but ultimately many teams have different grades on the same prospects based on how they fit in their plan and scheme.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound mauler was likely hand-picked by McCloughan, who wants big-bodied maulers to strengthen Washington’s running game. New O-Line coach Bill Callahan will know how to use him.
Kouandjio has also been training to improve his overall game this offseason with his brother — Bills OL Cyrus Kouandjio — as well as Titans guard Chance Warmack — both of whom were Arie’s college teammates.
“I’ve been getting ready,” Kouandjio told Alabama.com. “I’ve been getting stronger, focusing a lot on getting right and being ready to play at a high level and take what I want coming into this fall.”
