The Cleveland Browns’ second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel fumbled three times in a span of six plays at Tuesday’s practice, according to ESPN Browns beat writer Pat McManamon. Unfortunately, we don’t have video of the reported mishaps, but each of the fumbles came from the shotgun formation.

Now living with his former high school coach, Manziel really seems to have gotten his personal life under control and teammates and coaches have been raving about his much-improved work ethic this offseason.
But the former No. 22 overall pick from last year’s draft is still struggling in practice with basic concepts.
Josh McCown, an NFL journeyman who turns 36 next month, is fully expected to open the season as Cleveland’s starting quarterback, but Manziel has a legitimate shot to take over under center at some point this year if he continues to stay out of trouble and progresses as a quarterback. McCown is a short-term band-aid and an absolute train wreck in Tampa Bay last year. Without a QB whisperer at his side, McCown is destined to stumble.
